Our Story

Farm to Fit was born in 2011 by G. Scott Brown and Dré Slaman, who were looking for a service just like ours and couldn’t find one – so in true entrepreneurial spirit, they decided to create it! In the beginning, G. Scott and Dré ran all facets of the operation with one chef, out of a shared commercial kitchen in North Portland. As pioneers of the healthy prepared meal delivery concept in Portland, the duo realized they hit on something and were ready to expand to a larger kitchen in Downtown Portland, then quickly in another on NE Sandy Blvd.

The business continued to grow and so did their family with the birth of their daughter, Pierce, in July of 2014. In July of 2015, already busting at the seams in their new kitchen, G. Scott and Dré, bought a Used Volvo Parts warehouse in NE Portland.

Over the next year, they built a customized commercial kitchen in Northeast Portland, doubled their kitchen space, and created a kitchen for Farm to Fit to call home. Farm to Fit has regular customers throughout the Portland region, including Happy Valley, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Hillsboro, Beaverton, Vancouver, and throughout parts of Washington. We are proud to employ over 30 team members who are committed to making the Farm to Fit experience stellar.

LeeAnn Gillispie

LeeAnn Gillispie

Packaging Manager

An Oregon-native, LeeAnn is our packaging manager extraordinaire! LeeAnn has worn many hats in her time at Farm to Fit before recently becoming one of our most valued team-leaders and packaging wizards. An avid fan of the holidays (all of them but especially Halloween), when not at Farm To Fit she can be found at home crafting with the love of her life, her cat Romulus. (As well as her less-important human partner) With a wicked sense of humor and an even more wicked distaste of olives, LeeAnn loves coming to work every week to be a vital part of a local business in the city she calls home.

Nic Fasano

Client Specialist

A dyed-in-the-wool New Englander, Nic set out to pursue adventure and a degree in English Literature a decade ago from the rolling hills of Massachusetts before falling in love with the Pacific Northwest. With a work background as diverse as his music taste, Nic has at times been a cheesemonger, an actor, and most recently a veterinary professional before happily joining the team at Farm to Fit! He can be found on any given weekend laboring over the Italian staples he was raised upon and lamenting the fact that he still can’t find a decent bagel anywhere in Portland. (and forcing his love on less-than-thrilled cats)

In Memorium

Juan Camacho

Juan Camacho

Chef de Cuisine

Farm to Fit’s story wouldn’t be complete without Juan Camacho, our dear friend and Chef de Cuisine, who passed away suddenly early in 2020.  Originally from Mexico City, Juan began his cooking journey in Maui. After the birth of his daughter he moved to Portland and, eventually,  joined the Farm to Fit family, where he was able to marry his passion with our mission: creating dishes that are inspired by the abundance of fresh and local foods in the Portland area.

In the five years he was with us, he became a part of our family.

After this shocking loss, we have found a renewed commitment and sense of purpose to continue Juan’s legacy at Farm to Fit: his love of different cuisines, his commitment to deliciousness, and the joy he found in his work. His spirit will be kept alive in our food and our culture.

We will carry the lessons he left with us, and the joy he brought us, forever.
