Pumpkin Guts – and what to do with them!
Posted on
As we all prepare for spooky season, we all love to take part in the time-honored tradition of… Carving pumpkins of course! But how can we continue this tradition, and make sure we're still focusing on sustainability? Here are a few easy things you and your family can do to leave no pumpkin waste left behind!
- Roast those pumpkin seeds – Perfect for a healthy snack! (I like mine roasted salty or sweet: Cajun Seasoning or Cinnamon Sugar)
- Pumpkin Puree – So useful! With the puree you can make pumpkin pie, it could be the base for a pumpkin soup, or even save it to make a pumpkin foam for your morning coffee!
- Pumpkin butter – This is a fun one! You can use it on your toast in the morning (with a little splash of honey, YUM) or to start the base of a pumpkin stew.
- Pumpkin body scrub – Who’s ready to pamper themselves? We all need a soothing, homemade pumpkin body scrub and a hot bath at the end of the day. Throw the scrub in a cute jar and you have the perfect homemade gift to give!
No reason to waste an ounce of your jack-o-lantern this year, we want to use every single piece of our pumpkins to make sure no guts get left behind.
