Homemade Chamomile-Honey Tea & Cocktail Elixir
Posted on

There’s something timeless about the combination of chamomile and honey — calming, floral, and just a little sweet. To celebrate 14 years of Farm to Fit, we wanted to share one of our favorite seasonal gifts with you: our Chamomile-Honey Tea & Cocktail Elixir. It’s simple, local, and a reminder that wellness can be both delicious and easy.
Ingredients
-
Chamomile flowers
-
Water
-
Local honey (to taste depending on sweetness desired)
How to Make It
-
In a small saucepan, bring the water and chamomile flowers to a gentle simmer, over medium/high heat.
-
Simmer 5 additional minutes on low.
-
Remove from heat and stir in the honey, making sure it dissolves fully.
-
Transfer to a storage container and let sit. The longer the flowers stay in the syrup the stronger flavor will be. It is best in 7 days.
-
Strain the flowers out of the syrup and bottle.
This soothing syrup can be enjoyed in two ways:
For a Cocktail
-
2 parts Freeland Spirits Dry Gin
-
1 part Chamomile-Honey Syrup
-
1 dash cardamom bitters (or your favorite bitters)
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, strain into a glass, and garnish with a lemon twist.
For an Evening Tea
Stir a teaspoon of Chamomile-Honey Syrup into your favorite herbal tea or hot water with lemon. It lightly sweetens your cup and infuses the calming essence of chamomile — perfect for unwinding after a long day.
