The Keto Diet
While many people are familiar with the Keto, and have already adopted this way of eating, and many who are brand new to this. Either way, here are some things we want you to know –
- Keto is a way of eating that drastically reduces carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. This reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis. Once the body is in ketosis, it becomes efficient at burning fat for energy. It also turns fat into ketones in the liver.
- The Keto Flu is real! Many people experience flu like symptoms during their first week of being on the plan….this is the effect of your body detoxing from carbs. SO, stick with it…it will get better! (Read more here: https://hvmn.com/blog/ketosis/whats-keto-flu-and-how-do-you-cure-it)
- Your body could enter ketosis as quickly as 48 hours to 1 week, but it could take a couple of weeks. It all depends on your body type, intake and activity level. Regarding weight lost, many people lose weight rapidly in the first week and then continue to decline at a slower rate the weeks after. Again, every body is different!
